Join us for the 11th year of ‘Do It In Durham Entrepreneurship Week’. Durham Region’s celebration of entrepreneurship is held each November during Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Do It In Durham Entrepreneurship Week is a collaboration of Durham’s business support, educational and networking organizations who have come together to encourage and support entrepreneurs, job creators and innovators who create economic growth in the Durham Region.

Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is celebrated around the world with tens of thousands of sessions, workshops, networking events and competitions in November. Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded to 200+ nations since its launch in 2008.

All sessions for Do It In Durham 2023 (Nov. 13-17, 2023), are selected by the Do It In Durham planning committee based on topics that are of the greatest interest to attendees, that represent diverse organizations and companies and that offer a wide range of perspectives.

What is Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW)?

Each year, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is celebrated worldwide with tens of thousands of events, entrepreneurship conferences, workshops, connections and competitions in the third week of November. GEW activities have inspired millions of people to explore their potential as entrepreneurs and connect with their local entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Powered by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded to 200+ nations since its launch in 2008. In Durham, we called it “Do It In Durham” if you are going to start, grow or hire, we want you to “Do It In Durham”. Durham Region is one of the fastest growing regions in Canada and our future is bright!

How is Do It In Durham celebrated in Durham region?

Do It In Durham is part of one of the world’s largest celebrations of GEW and entrepreneurship. Each year, BACD crowdsources sessions from entrepreneurs and community partners (like you!) who freely, willingly and passionately share their knowledge, insights and experience with the entrepreneurship community.

Who attends Do It In Durham?

Entrepreneurs, small business owners, innovators, investors, policy makers, city leaders, small business champions—anyone who wants to know more about entrepreneurship and get connected to Durham Region’s vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Most of our Do It In Durham sessions are free and open to the public.

Do It In Durham will be hosted at various locations across Durham and Online.
